Opti 2 Session 3 - Annisquam Yacht Club
Opti 2 - Sailing, Tennis, & Seamanship ( Intermediate ) Eligibility AYC Jr Sailing is open to all children regardless of membership status. Admittance in the 2s class is based on their ability and performance in Opti 1s, and demonstration of adequate swimming skills for safety purposes. Or beginners in the Opti 2 age range, 10-12. Sailing The Opti 2 Sailing class builds on the 1s mastery of the basic skills of sailing. Participants will work on developing advanced sailing skills. A Opti 2 sailor will be able to master basic knots, have a strong understanding of the parts of the boat and sail and their effects on powering and de-powering the boat. Sailors will have a constant awareness of the wind, be able to trim for different points of sail and conditions, have an awareness of body position relative to wind and wave conditions, and consistently use tiller extension. The 2s will make controlled gybes, tack without falling-off the breeze, sail in and out of the river independently, land on docks or instructors motor boat safely, and have a basic understanding of the Rules of the Road. Once Upon a Time July 11-15 - Summit School
"Once Upon A Time..." A camp to promote literacy and encourage imagination Rising 1 and 2 July 11-15 Kim Fansler In this camp reading, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, art, cooking and drama will all be taught using various versions of classic fairy tales. We will give the children the opportunity to build the houses the three little pigs built. They will make the gingerbread houses that Hansel and Gretel found in the woods. They will plant the magic beans that Jack used to grow the magical beanstalk. They will dress up as characters and act out favorite scenes. They will get to paint and decorate enchanted castles. Junior Summer Camp (Ages 10-16) 10AM-3PM - Grantwood Golf Course
The golf camps at Grantwood provide a safe and fun atmosphere for juniors of all skill levels to play golf, build friendships and create lifelong memories. Our camps are staffed by PGA Professionals and instructors who focus on all important aspects of the game including putting, chipping, full swing, on-course play and rules and etiquette. Registration fee includes all golf fees, range balls, refreshments, lunch daily, prizes and more! This is a great opportunity for the aspiring avid junior golfer to learn many new aspects to improve scores and enhance their enjoyment of the game.
