Outside Hitter Camp - Beck Center
We will be focusing a lot on the passing aspects of the game during the first part of the session along with working on the mechanics of the arm swing. The second part of the session we will be progressing into more game like situations that involve both the Outside Hitter and Right Side Hitter. This camp is for all levels of players as we will progress each drill according to the success of the player. If you are just starting out we will work with you to get you to understand the game from the Outside Hitter position and work through the early fundamentals that you will need to become successful. If you have played the position for a while you will progress on a track to teach you the different levels of the game and how we do things here at Transylvania Volleyball. Jump Start Lacrosse - Rotary Park
Boys and Girls in grades K-6 will learn to play the fastest growing sport in the United States! Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun. It has the elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Experienced coaches provided by Jump Start Sports lead the training on all the fundamentals, including: passing & catching, fielding ground balls, cradling, spacing, positioning and defense. Players will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages. Plastic sticks and soft balls will be provided. Film-Visual Arts - Amador Elementary School
FINE ARTS ARTISTIC EXPLORATION - NO LUGGAGE REQUIRED Students will analyze the role and development of the visual arts in past and present cultures throughout the world, noting human diversity as it relates to the visual arts and artists. While participating in mini projects inspired by artists, students will have the practical opportunity to develop character by working together applying their learning for the common good of their school, local, and/or global community with a service learning project. Students will perceive and respond to works of art, objects in nature, events, and the environment. Students will describe how artists can show the same theme by using different media and styles. The culminating wearable art project will center around common class selected themes demonstrating human diversity as it relates to visual arts. DIGITAL PROJECTS FROM CONCEPTION TO PROJECTION INVENTIONS Budding entrepreneurs will be provided with problem-solving opportunities to explore the inventor that is within their imagination. Students will work independently and collaboratively to apply their creativity to solve problems that include interactive physics applications. The Great Outdoors (A.M.) with Pam Peters - Westerly Creek Elementary (Art Room)
Teacher: Pam Peters Theres nothing like some time in the great outdoors. Pam will lead children through and adventure in art exploring nature and outdoor themes. They will incorporate items they find in the outdoors on nature walks during camp or those they find on their own. The projects will also include creating from clay, which will be fired and painted or glazed. Other materials for projects will include fabric, recycled materials, beads, buttons, wood.
