Campers will learn the ways of the medieval world as they experience a week in the life of a knight in training. Campers will learn about medieval history, mythology, European martial arts, woodcraft, and a whole host of skills necessary for survival in the medieval world on the path to becoming a knight. The foundation of the camp will be learning the knightly art of combat with the two-handed longsword. Campers will use specially constructed training swords with nylon blades and safety equipment to learn the fighting techniques of the German style of longsword combat. Over the week, we will evolve our training to the modern Olympic sword comparing the lives then, and the lives now of modern heroes. Offered in partnership with Midsouth Fencers Club 9194932642.0
