This summer, LightUp is pleased to be partnering with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation & Education Department to bring an exciting new bike camp to Ann Arbor. This camp gives individuals with special needs the thrill of independently riding a two-wheel bicycle. Developed by iCan Shine Inc., this program is offered through a 5-day summer camp. Camp runs during the week of June 27th for 75 minutes per day, there are 5 sections of camp to choose from. Monday- Friday , 75 minutes per day. This summers (2016) camp is geared specifically to the needs of youth diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To apply, complete an application with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation and Education Department. LightUp will provide a limited number of scholarships to families who may qualify based on financial need. Follow this link to apply to LightUps financial scholarship. This science-themed week will be full of experiments and creations and hopefully some slime & bubbles, but no big explosions! Campers will recieve a summer camp T-shirt. Marshwood Boys Varsity coach Ben Deschene and Boys Varsity soccer players help area youth in developing their soccer skills in a competitive and fun atmosphere.The camp is designed for both first time soccer players and those who wish to improve their game for the upcoming rec, school and travel soccer seasons. Week 6 3 Half Days AM Westport Summer All Sports Camp - Greens Farms Elementary School
For Boys and Girls ages 4-12 We are very excited about our location for the Summer!! This camp offers a combination of traditional sports games like floor hockey, soccer, basketball, flag football, handball, wiffleball, physical education activities such as tag games, pinball, battleship, virtual space tag, north south, gold rush, capture the football, and various cooperative games. We ask that our full day campers bring a (peanut butter free) snack and lunch and water bottle, and our half day campers bring a peanut butter free snack and water bottle. Children are divided by age into small groups and will participate in developmentally appropriate activities for their groups. Generally the groups contain children of no more than a year apart and we do our best to maintain an 8:1 ratio of campers to coaches and sometimes even 6:1 for our youngest groups. This a basketball camp for kids grades 4 - 8 emphasizing FAITH, FUN AND FUNDAMENTALS. Campers will be organized into groups and teams according to age level and ability in order to provide a positive learning experience. Campers will learn that the quest to develop as a basketball player "mirrors" the quest to develop as a Christian. Each day will begin and end with prayer. The themes for each day applying to both basketball and the Christian Life will be commitment, practice, growth and teamwork. Space is limited to 48 campers and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. EACH CAMPER MUST BRING A PACKED LUNCH EVERY DAY. Through quality, high-energy soccer programming with principled instruction from highly-trained coaches, Soccer Shots emphasizes soccer skills and character development with fun, age-appropriate play. Soccer Shots instructors use each session to teach children important character and social concepts, such as teamwork, confidence and respect. Moreover, their weekly, semester-long approach will take all children from the most basic understanding of soccer through the 10 fundamental skills all soccer players need to know. Finally, Soccer Shots teaches players positive life skills designed to leave a lasting impact on every child who participates.
