My daughter is interested in marine biology, so we decided to send her to this camp. She was able to study and learn about many different aspects of marine life. She has a greater respect for any living sea creature and she wants to study this science now more than ever. Held in Ashland, Nebraska at Carol Joy Holling Camp and Retreat Center, this event will gather youth from across the ELCA for intentional leadership development and faith formation. Our guests include Presiding Bishop Eaton, Kevin Strickland, Assistant to the Presiding Bishop/Executive for Worship, Stephen Bouman, Executive Director for Congregational and Synodical Missions of the ELCA, and several other wonderful speakers and teachers. Our featured presenter is Lyle Griner who will be coaching us on Peer Ministry. Each synod will select two youth to participate and send one adult to accompany them on the journey. Registration will be covered by a special grant. Your only responsibilities will be travel and being open to what God has in store for you through this event. Registration closes on October 1, 2015.

Students will be introduced to, and explore a wide variety of exercises that are challenging yet fun! Consisting of multiple stations where students engage in exploratory learning using weights, jump ropes, exercise balls, medicine balls, fitness bands, multiple I-pad fitness applications, kettle bells, speed ladders, and much more! Each week campers will participate in a variety of activities including fishing, hiking, building forts in the woods, group games, and activities and programs related to the theme. Camp Collegiate Session 5 3rd-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hawley Session 5: Explore the Great Outdoors III. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer!
