Chess Wizards Summer Camp (K - 8th Grade) - Winnetka Community House
Would you like to go on a journey to learn cool openings, mid-games with all the pins, double attacks, endgames and even bughouse? Would you like to be a part of a successful chess team, designed to cater to all levels of chess players? If so, join Chess Wizards for this camp! Campers will learn how to play chess in a fun atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor activities. This camp is for beginning and intermediate level players. No previous experience is needed. Children should bring their own lunch and a drink, but snacks will be provided. All campers will receive a chessboard, a Chess Wizards shirt, score book, trophy, work folder and certificate of achievement! ASSI Soccer Camp - Ackerman Park
All Star Sports covers every aspect of the world?s most popular game. Kids build confidence and self-esteem as they are challenged with many short-term goals over a week. The trained staff will be able to enhance play, whether they are beginners or have played on travel teams. Each day consists of stretching and warm-ups, drills and skills, fun competitions, and a strategy session all leading up to a game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equipment needed for this camp: soccer ball and shin guards. Our Forest Kindergarten program is modeled around German Waldkindergartens, in which all of our class time is spent entirely outside! Rolling enrollment continues based on availability Outdoor classrooms naturally create endless learning opportunities for our children to nurture their own curiosity, perhaps by following animal tracks and sign, making wild crafts with leaves and treasures found on the forest floor, or using fallen logs as balance beams. Adult mentors assist in the learning, rather than lead the teachings. This is different from a "nature preschool," which infuses lessons with nature-inspired themes and balances indoor time with outdoor time, as we will be outside the ENTIRE time in all but extreme weather conditions. Proper dress and an adventurous, curious spirit is essential... and we know thats what kids do best! 978-463-2233
