Tot Soccer N Stories Camp - Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center
Jump into the world of stories and soccer through this exciting camp for little ones! Each time they attend camp children will enjoy a mind-awakening story and learn the skills, moves, and joy of playing soccer. Children will have fun learning basic soccer skills like running, chasing and kicking. They will enhance listening and social skills as well as develop coordination and balance as they get their first taste of soccer in a fun and safe environment. KidSport After Camp Care Week of 8/8 - 8/12 - Scarlett Middle School
After Camp Care for KidSport the week of 8/8 - 8/12 Parents/guardians come into school to sign out and pick up camper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KidSport offers children the opportunity to learn and refine non-competitive sport-specific, team building and social skills. The activities are age appropriate and developed by experts in childrens physical education. KidSport is staffed by certified teachers as well as physical education and education majors focused on providing a first-rate experience for your kids! Lego Action Jrs. - The Surge Community Center
This camp is for the younger LEGO fan that is just getting into LEGO. JRS will learn basic building techniques, play building oriented games, and create from their own imagination. Projects like building racecars, animals, mosaics are few of the things the children will work on. Action LEGOs puts fun in motion as students learn how to use gears, motors, potential energy and balance to create numerous contraptions. Through the excitement of building, our summer camp students understand how gears translate motion and how different types of energy can propel vehicles and machines. After each building project, summer camp kids customize, share, and enjoy playing with their creations. Kids have many opportunities free building, playing Lego games creating their own amazing projects. We are focused on active learning because the development of the brain is so important in the early years and research proves that children learn by doing. We have a unique ability to excite and motivate kids to grasp programming and engineering concepts, yet we also place equal emphasis on celebrating STEM education and creativity. Red Wolf Teen Leaders - April - Shope Creek
The Red Wolf Teen Leaders(RWTL) program cultivates teens who are equally comfortable and competent both in their communities and in the natural world. This is accomplished through community service, an ever deepening knowledge of place, and wilderness survival skills. Teens in this program will develop a solid awareness of their individual gifts and will be well equipped to carry these gifts forward. Participants in RWTL will go on a series of adventures where they learn essential survival skills such as fire by friction, building natural shelters, wild food foraging and much more.​ To provide a program that is accessible to families and yet offers a deep experience for the teens, were offering this program in 3 separate monthly classes that can be taken individually or as a whole. Each month consists of a Friday evening to Sunday afternoon weekend campout that has its own unique character, and together the 3 months weave a comprehensive and empowering wilderness experience.
