We invite you to immerse yourself in the wild and test your survival skills as trained counselors and staff lead participants through primitive camping activities. Improv - Hopkins Campus
Move, express and think quickly on your feet! This workshop is full of fun theater games and improvisational activities where students will work collaboratively to create numerous characters and plots and then bring them to life on stage. We will learn and laugh a lot together. We will focus on the process of building an actors skills by using improvisation as the tool for exploration and discovery. *New*Camp Tiyul hits the road! Spend the summer enjoying the great outdoors with your friends in an exciting camp designed for our senior campers! Using a challenge by choice philosophy, campers will develop their appreciation for the outdoors at iconic Austin-area sites, such as Blue Hole, Pedernales Falls State Park, and the Greenbelt. Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities such as kayaking, swimming, hiking and rock climbing, as well as community service projects. Mandarin - Little Dragons (Level 1) - Germantown Friends School
The objective of this club is to initiate what we hope will be a lifelong interest in a culture that is becoming an increasingly important player on the world stage. The program follows the My First Chinese Words curriculum, which offers an introduction to such key vocabulary as numbers, colors, body parts and animal names. Students will read supplementary Chinese storybooks, watch DVDs about Martial Arts and create arts and crafts related to Chinese holidays and traditions. Our bilingual, bicultural instructor, Wei Chen, is deeply committed to teaching Mandarin to children and to igniting their curiosity about foreign cultures.
