7th-9th grade week occurs at the same time as our senior high week, but they are not part of the senior high week. They have different schedules and do different activities. Is there a better place to spend a week of your summer than at camp? For over 80 years, Grindstone Lake Bible Camp has been a summer tradition for many families! Located on the beautiful shores of Grindstone Lake in Sandstone MN, Grindstone Lake Bible Camp offers many opportunities for summer fun, and this year is no exception! 4-H Teen Voices Retreat - New Windsor, IL
Teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to join Rock Island County 4-H for an interactive leadership retreat on Saturday, August 29 at Camp Summit in New Windsor. Teens will get to participate in team-building exercises, go zip-lining and other outdoor activities as well as give their input into ideas they would like to see for youth programs in the local community. Teens will learn ways they can use their interests and skills to develop their leadership, citizenship, presentation and organization skills by becoming in involved in the various 4-H Teen programs offered in Rock Island County.

2nd Annual Summer Youth Camp - Manteno, IL
We will be taking 20 young men ages 10 to 18 to Camp Shaw-was-nas-see for three days and two nights of fun, learning and relaxation. Activities included at this event are First Aid, Map & Compass Reading, Basketball, Swimming, Archery, Nature Trail Walks, Zip Lines, Strength and Endurance Training, Mens Rap, where on last year we talked about the detriments of gangs, drugs and violence, and much much more. All meals will be provided. Last year we paid $60 per person to go to this event but through the generous donations of our donors we didnt have to charge any of the families for their young men to participate in this event. We were also able to purchase our insuance and supplies through our donors. This year we have been given a discount $50 per camper and we are praying for the same support this year. Week 5 AM - Fishing - NESS
Summer is the best time of year for fishing, but you need the knowledge of fish habits to help narrow down the best fishing areas by boat and from shore. Open to both experienced and new anglers. Learn the basics of a variety of styles of fishing including rod and reel trolling, bottom fishing, fly fishing, clamming and lobster fishing. Students will also learn about tying knots, baiting hooks, cleaning gear, and practicing fishing safety. Become more aware of local fisheries and fishing impacts. We practice catch and release only. Students should bring their own fishing rods and tackle ready for use. Some NESS rods are available and bait will be provided, please call to inquire. 860-535-9362

Tennis: Summer Camp - Chickahominy Middle School
Fees: $100, additional sibling fee $90 [ ] Are you ready for a great summer of tennis? Well have so much fun - games, music, candy, awards, team pictures, t-shirts and lots & lots of tennis! Youth Lacrosse Summer Skills Camp (Grades 3-4) - Stoughton Recreation Department
This program is for children in grades 1-4th and all skill levels. The philosophy behind the program is to teach basic skills and fundamentals, develop athletic skills, make new friends, and most importantly have fun! The program stresses good sportsmanship at all times. All equipment will be provided. This is a good program to put your child in if theyre baseball, football, basketball, and/or hockey players. Many of the physical skills worked on during the camp will crossover to those sports. All equipment is provided.
