Our younger campers will start their day at Cipriani School with camp activities and a healthy snack, followed by a trip to the Belmont Library playground in our Footsteps vans and school buses for outdoor activities and lunch. The afternoon includes a 1/2 hour swim lesson and 1 - 2 hour recreational swim. After swimming, campers head back to Cipriani for snack and afternoon activities. Thank you so much for supporting Camp Common Ground's effort to get our youth leaders in Oakland to camp! Your attendance and participation at the launch of our second fundraiser will be imperative to ensuring that our youth from diverse racial and economic backgrounds can stand together this summer to break down barriers that exist between their communities. Come hungry and ready to drink, and don't forget your laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. that we will use to get the word out about the fundraiser to all of our networks! What's the impact we will make in one day? The fundraiser will last for the entire month of March. During last month's fundraiser, Camp Common Ground supporters exceeded the fundraising goal of $4800. The $5400 raised will bring 4 Oakland youth to camp. During this fundraiser, we will raise $13,200, which will bring 16 more Oakland youth to camp--6 more on full scholarships and 10 on partial scholarships. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Arcade Game Design - The Digital Arts Experience
Code your own arcade game and design your own controller that works with it! The first half of this class will involve students coding their own old school arcade style game from scratch. Think something like Spade Invaders, Galaga, Pong and more! Then, well have the students work with Arduino UNOs & breadboards and use physical programming to wire their own controller to work with the game. Finally, students will design their very own case for their controller that we will print out using our 3D Printers! Come both physical and digital programming for this interactive class where students will be able to show off their games and controllers to friends and family! **Please note**: We have Arduino UNOs & breadboards for the students to use as their controllers for the duration of the class but they will need to be returned at the end. After the first few weeks of class, however, we will offer the option to order an Arduino Starter Kit ($99) for the students so that they will be able to work on their own units and take home with them. Our five day camps are extremely popular and can be summed up in one word: FUN!! They are geared toward introducing children to golf so they can experience how much fun the game is. All aspects of the game are covered including rules and etiquette. Golf cubs are provided for children who do not have a set of clubs. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to noon and include: instruction, golf shirt, snacks, and a pizza party on the last day! Ages 6-12. These Camps are based on the principles that kids have an enormous reservoir of creativity and innovative ideas which they look forward to sharing with other like-minded individuals who hold common interests. Please register using a computer. Please do not use a tablet or smart phone when you register because the program will not work properly. The registration process takes about an hour and asks you to answer about 50 questions. The program does not allow you to save your work, so it is best to answer the questions in one sitting, electronically sign all the waivers and pay your deposit so you are fully registered.
