Join Northwestern Goalkeeper Trainer and former Pro, Ovidio Felcaro, for the goalkeeper-specific curriculum at the Commuter Camp. Players will be exposed to modern goalkeeper training techniques and coaching which will include (but is not limited to) footwork, basic handling, advanced handling, diving, cross management, distribution, and decision making. Create giant masks and bring the characters of the Russian folk tale Baba Yaga to life as you experiment with music-making, movement, and mime! There will be witches, magical animals, fabulous costumes, lights, music and action: fun for all levels. Everyone will take part in a final performance at dusk on Friday, July 15 on our outdoor stage, the Crow’s Nest. The community will be invited to join in a weiner roast before the show, and then to marvel at the amazing performance the kids will have put together in a single week! Cost is $25 per child and includes all supplies and a healthy mid morning snack each day. Space is limited! Pre-registration is required and spots are available on a first come first serve basis. JDRF has partnered together with Camp Soaring Eagle to offer a FREE CAMP to Type One Diabetic children ages 8-15 to come experience the healing power of laughter! CSE offers two camper weekends dedicated to T1D kids in a session for Teens and a session for Youth. Youth T1D camp is for kids 8-12 and Teen T1D Camp is for kids 13-15. The camper session runs from Friday-Sunday. CSE provides the campers with opportunity to learn about diabetes management and encourages independent health care. Campers with diabetes feel normal because they see all their peers with the same challenging diagnosis. CSE provides a balanced diet and menu with all carb counts for all meals.
