The Southern Region 4-H Teen Leadership Conference (SLTRC) is scheduled for September 24-27, 2015, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville. This event is open to senior 4-H members (9-12 grade as of January 1, 2015). Get Golf Ready is an intro to golf program for new, beginner and high handicapper golfers. GGR is designed to teach everything youll need to play golf in just a few lessons. Each session will focus on the various golf skills you will use while playing. In addition to learning the basics, you will be guided onto the golf course to put your skills into action in a casual, friendly setting. Through this program, participants will be introduced to golf in a comfortable setting that will enable participants to reap the benefits both on and off the golf course. Not only will participants experience the satisfaction of striking that first chip shot, particpants will also realize the health, professional and personal benefits, that are afforded by the game. On the business side, for young and seasoned professionals, men and women alike, the golf course provides as appropriate setting to develope new business relationships and network with colleagues. Camp Greenwell - Week 9 - The Greenwell Foundation
Ages 6-12 by June 20, 2016 [ages 6 (who have completed kindergarten) –12 by first day of camp session]. Camp Greenwell is everything nature and adventure with opportunities to kayak, hike, craft, fish, do archery, play and discover. Mid-week, campers will take a wagon ride over to the Manor House area where they can build forts with bamboo, explore the gardens, play water games and capture the flag, visit the Barn and participate in our Nature Time program. Daily free time allows the campers to let their imagination and interests drive their play while in the outdoors. Each afternoon, campers are provided an afternoon snack and each week there is a chance to make Smores. The week ends with Tye-Dye Friday for a take-home memory of the week at camp. Camp Greenwell is offered all eight weeks of our summer camp program. Both AM and PM Extended care and Drop-In Extended Care is available. Session 2- Advanced Residential and Extended Day Camp - University of Maryland
This camp is an all-encompassing program specifically designed for the more serious soccer player. The focus here will be to challenge each individual to transfer what they have learned in the morning skill sessions and the afternoon small group tactics into the competitive full-field evening games. You will play on the same fields that the University of Maryland Mens Soccer Team utilizes. Wizards in training! Are you ready to get your Hogwarts acceptance letter and join us for Wizard Training at the SPRFC branch of Hogwarts? The kids will be sorted into their houses, receive a wand and participate in fun wizard classes. The week will be full of scavenger hunts, duels, Quidditch, and a Tri-Wizard Tournament too! *****Please pack your child a nut free bag lunch***** Snack will be provided. Week 4 AM - Taste of Optis - NESS
Its never too early to get on the water! The Taste of Optis class is designed for kids aged 6-11 and does not require sailing experience. Meant to be a fun group experience, it enables kids to get a taste of sailing in one week of instruction. Students will become familiar with water safety on the docks and in an optimist trainer, while learning what it feels like to be on the water. Over the week the students will be introduced to the different parts of the boat, knots, rigging and steering. One step at a time this is an important one to take in a nurturing environment with friendly and patient instructors. 860-535-9362
