Week 7 PM - Keelboat Adventures - NESS
Keelboat Adventures is a perfect fit for those kids who want to learn to sail on bigger boats. Our 23 foot Sonar will take these students all over Fishers Island Sound. A NESS instructor will be onboard while students learn how to work as a team to get this boat cruising. This class will cover the basics of rigging, steering and navigating this larger platform all while having fun. 860-535-9362
Sports Camp- Session I 2 weeks - Prairie View Park
A variety of sports will be introduced including floor hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and more! We will also play smaller, team-style sports such as dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag, and other schoolyard style sports. Campers will go on several sports related field trips throughout the summer. All campers will receive a camp shirt and must bring a sack lunch and water bottle to camp each day. Yick Yack Yuck - EcoAdventures
Yick, Yack, Yuck July 5th-8th 9am – 4pm (Ages 5 – 11) Monday – Friday Its the study of everything gross in this camp, as kids jump into the world of disgusting (I know…you say they are already there…)!! Its all things gooey, slimy, slippery…funky, ugly, and foul!!! All of the gross stuff that kids just LOVE! Kids will get down and dirty with lots of hands-on activities, and in this special edition of Grossology. For this camp kids will be rolling up their sleeves and getting elbow deep in the ultimate Yuck and Muck!! Campers will dissect owl pellets (dried up wads of owl vomit that the birds yack up periodically) looking for all the bits and bobs of what the owls have been eating. So, for those brave enough to pick through them, there are treasures to be found! Get the scoop about animal poop and even make edible poo (ewwww GROSS), and if that doesnt do it for you then its slime time with edible glow in the dark slime. Learn about animals that have slime for defenses. Interact with slimy toads, salamanders…feel smooth snakes, and a prickly hedgehog. Well muck about outside so plan on getting... (410) 279-5416
Video Production Basics (PM) - The Digital Arts Experience
Come for 1 or 2 weeks! These programs are aimed at beginner to intermediate level students. Because our classes are small groups, instructors can gauge each students skill level and assign projects appropriately. All students will receive their own DAE 8GB flash drive to store their work on and take home! Watching movies is awesome but how do you make them? This class introduces students to the basic concepts of creating movies! Students will learn composition techniques to create interesting shots, how to tell a good story with clever editing and how to plan out their own project. Join and start improving your filmmaking skills today. The goals of this class are to ensure students understand the overall process of creating a film, learning techniques and concepts to improve their skills and understand the technology of the capture devices they use in class. 9146448100.0

After graduating from Penn State in 2011, I taught at Manchester Academic Charter School in Pittsburgh. Last August, I moved back to the State College area to begin a new chapter in my personal and professional life. This past summer, I earned my Masters of Education in Special Education at Walden University. In addition to teaching, I enjoy running each year in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, Race for the Cure, Run or Dye, and other races to raise awareness for good causes.
