More than toys, LEGO building blocks are a doorway to mathematics, science and technology. They also are a blast to play with! Students in this camp will explore creative options with blocks, then work with FIRST LEGO League Jr. simple machine kits to explore key scientific models like levers, pulleys and gears. By the end, they will be on their way to FLL Jr. participation in the upcoming competition season, or just have enjoyed great hands‐on opportunities to learn some basic engineering. Girl Scout Sunday: Toy Hack - The Mini Maker
Patch Included During our Toy Hack sessions your kids are given a selection of old toys, such as, a GI Joe, Barbie Doll, Legos, Dinosaur figures, ect. Your kids use basic tools like a screw driver to "hack" the toys apart. Then with the use of tape, pipe cleaners, or glue gun the kids are able to reuse and recycle the pieces and create a new toy with them. For example: A Barbie Doll body with a T-Rex Head and Zombie Foot. During this session the kids are also asked to use their imaginations to create a story around the figure they have created.
