This course will teach students the basics of the history of robotics, along with key components of robots and how they developed over time. Following completion of short web research work, students will work in teams to learn to build robots, to program them and to use various sensors to make them "smart." As students progress, using Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, they will learn to create more "sophisticated" robots that can do things the simpler ones cannot. Students will be graded on their knowledge of robot history and their components, as well as on their ability to complete specific exercises with the robots. This "hands-on "course is not only fun, but is a great learning experience! STUDENTS MAY ACCRUE NO MORE THAN TWO, (2), ABSENCES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS COURSE. ***CREDIT IS GUARANTEED FOR NDA STUDENTS ONLY. Arbys No Kid Hungry Campaign - Hope Mills, NC
Arby's is doing it again for the third year but at Arby's location. This year we will be holding different event at the Hope Mills Location to raise money for the No Kid Go Hungry Campaign from August 18 -September 28, 2015. Since 2011, the Arby's Foundation has been a national charity partner of Share Our Strength*s No Kid Hungry* campaign (NKH). As NKH's largest quick service restaurant partner, the Arby's Foundation has raised over $5 million in the past two years to support NKH and other hunger-fighting organizations in the communities that Arby's serves. Activities are plan as follows. Daily Business Spotlight From August 18 -September 28, 2015 Vendors will check in with the manger of the store and set up in designated area Arby's will have a business spotlight section where the vendors can set up there displays.
