Possible projects may include constructing a bookshelf, birdhouse, wooden clock, jigsaw puzzle and carving a bowl or candleholder on a wood lathe. Woodworking experience is not required, only a desire to learn new skills. This specialty camp came into being at the request of campers and parents and has limited enrollment available for instructional purposes. We have envisioned this workshop to have the following goals: 1. To provide a hands-on course that initiates the learning of a new skill during the summer and the development of a lifelong hobby. 2. To learn basic carpentry skills and the proper use of a variety of tools. 3. To encourage pride in ones work and craftsmanship through projects that a boy wants to take home.
