CIT GMC 1 - Judson Baptist Retreat Center
A JBRC Camp Counselor-In-Training must be a Christian; pleasant toward campers, counselors, and fellow workers. Must be willing to work hard and go the extra mile. Must have a servants heart!. A CIT will be assigned to a JBRC Staffer and will undergird her work. She will not be allowed to have the full responsibility of the cabin, but will observe, learn and help keep the cabin running smoothly. She will also be required to be at CIT training meetings as well as work in the concession stand and camp kitchen. 225-634-7225
Fencing: European Foil - Old Trail School
Campers will learn the ancient art of fencing beginning with the modern version of the court sword. Campers will learn basic foot drill, parry drill, and attacks. Physical skills in agility, coordination and fitness will be emphasized. Rules, scoring and judging, tactics and strategy are part of the fencing mental skills developed as well. Campers will sharpen concentration and alertness, reaction and evaluation. Sparring is safe and fun. Required equipment will be furnished. Minimum of four children. This is a ½ day only session, perfect for those who attended the first session and those with some experience. Campers will be introduced and taught the basic skills of passing, shooting, cutting, dribbling and defense. Instruction will be done with drills, relays, lead-up games and contests. We will use 8-foot and 10-foot baskets to allow campers to experience success. Campers will have fun and enjoy learning the basic fundamentals of basketball. Check-in will begin Monday, July 18, at Crisler Center at 8:30 am. Camp activities will begin right after check-in and camp will be dismissed at 4 pm each afternoon (full-day). Those campers that are staying for the half-day option will be dismissed at 12 pm. Camp will begin each morning at 9 am. Lachey Arts is proud to work in conjunction with Mariemont Schools to bring music theater to our elementary students. During the 10 week class, students will work on singing, dancing and acting skills. Parents will be invited to the final class to watch the performance. This class is open to students in kindergarten-3rd grade at Terrace Park Elementary.
