LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Laurens First and Goal Football Camp PA - Lafayette Colleges Metzgar Athletic Campus
LFG Football Camp is a one day, instructional clinic for high school aged players taught by volunteer college coaches from across all divisions. It is a unique opportunity to hone your skills, learn new techniques and drills and showcase your talent to the more than 300 college coaches volunteering their time and talents to coach for the day. LFG is not a combine - there is no timed 40, vertical, height/weight measurement, ect. It is a learning experience open to players of all levels. Players are grouped by graduation year (rising seniors and underclassmen) and position chosen, and rotate through offensive and defensive sessions throughout the day. Kickers have the option of staying with the kicking specialist coaches for the entire day, or rotating to another position if desired. Quarterbacks also have the option of playing quarterback all day, but we encourage players to rotate to another position. Players do not wear pads or helmets, but we recommend mouthguards. As a parent, I like the goals of the camp: to offer a safe environment where campers can learn, become confident, improve self-esteem, learn skills that foster independence. I don’t mind that my son want to return to this camp year after year.

This is an introductory course of popular Latin dances. It is appropriate for all levels of dance experience. Classical Ballet is incorporated into the curriculum to ensure proper technique is applied in all dance styles. The dancers will be split into two groups. Children ages 5-8 will attend camp from 9:00am-12:00pm. Children ages 9-12 will attend camp from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

This weekend program allows for interactions amongst peer groups, as well as a learning experience for campers without diabetes. Educational sessions relating to “teen issues,” “school issues,” and “How-to-be-a-friend” are led by pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dieticians and mental health professionals. We understand that networking and the support of a teen’s peers is critical at this age, so we provide fun and interactive activities such as a beach party, luaus, casino night, and a lot of land sports.

Campers will learn and practice the fundamental skills of performing in musical theater. Combining voice and acting skills, students will present a short showcase for parents at the end of the camp week. This camp can be repeated. Engineering Is Fun Grades 2-5 (Wednesday) - Janney Elementary School
Engineering Fun is an excellent hands on activity based STEM curriculum. Students learn basic concepts about Energy, Light, Motion and more. This class does not use games to engage kids in engineering/science concepts. Students learn thinking and reasoning skills needed for success. Engineering Fun engages children to apply what they know about science and math through hands on activities are based on real-world technologies and problems, they help children see how disciplines like math and science are relevant to their life. Keelboat Adventures is a perfect fit for those kids who want to learn to sail on bigger boats. Our 23 foot Sonar will take these students all over Fishers Island Sound. A NESS instructor will be onboard while students learn how to work as a team to get this boat cruising. This class will cover the basics of rigging, steering and navigating this larger platform all while having fun. 860-535-9362
