During staff training, counselors and other staff members are trained in basic youth development, behavior management and common issues, group formation, diversity and cultural competency. Common issues like homesickness are also touched on, and counselors are reminded of the importance of encouraging youth to reach their full potential. Kids Summer Camp week 1 - Spirit of the Horse Stables
Spring horse camps great for kids to build character and increase their knowledge of horses while having a great time and making friends. Our groups are small in order to provide more one on one teaching. All campers will enjoy learning to tack their horse, riding, grooming, bathing and caring for their horse. We will have daily arts & crafts that they can take home. Campers will also enjoy additional fun activities, and be able spend more time with the horses. All campers will have activities tailored toward their age & experiences. For girls and boys ages 5 - 18 years old. Beginner- Advanced riders welcome. Runs Monday- Friday 8 am - 2pm - Offering early drop off and late pick up for an additional $10 per hour - Limited space we only take up to 10 campers per week - Multiple kid and refer a friend discounts - camp photos included (must sign waiver) - Horse show every Friday (ribbons are given out) parents are welcome to come - will learn about other farm animals & how to care for them Suggested to have and be own helmet that fits properly (will supply if needed)! Through a variety of fun activities in and around The Derryfield School, Creative Campers will become more confident in their ability to observe, analyze, and problem-solve. Voice and singing Camps - Voice Camp - MacPhail Center for Music - Minneapolis
Whether youve never taken voice lessons before or you have a few years of experience, Voice Camp is right for you. Students will work in small groups to develop their technique - improving their breathing, range and confidence. Through solos, duets and large ensemble pieces, students will study a variety of styles and genres including jazz, pop, musical theater and classical singing while continuing to expand their music reading skills. Each student will be expected to come to camp with a prepared, memorized vocal solo of any genre. The camp will conclude with a final concert for family and friends.
