LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Advanced Development Camp: Session 3 - Cabin John Regional Park
Big Train Manager Sal Colangelo has designed these camps for advanced training for young players with above-average skills. On Monday, Big Train players and coaches will lead the campers through a series of drills designed to improve skills and choose teams for the weeks showcase games. Each day from Tuesday through Friday, camp will begin with one hour of skills training followed by a 7-inning showcase game on Field #2. Each camper will receive an official Big Train & BCC Baseball Summer Camp t-shirt that will entitle the camper free admission to all Big Train home games at Shiryley Povich Field during the 2015 regular season. For an additional $90, the participants in the Advanced Development Player Camps may attend the regular Big Train Camp in the afternoon until 3 p.m. 301-365-1076

Best Summer Ever
Our son just got back from the YMCA Camp and he can't stop talking about all the fun. We knew he was having a good time based on the photos he sent us but to see his face light up when he is retelling the stories is priceless. I'm sure we'll be hearing about the surf lessons, the horseback riding and the campfires for months to come! School of Rock - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
The brand new musical - which opened this season on Broadway - follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school and ends up turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. SCHOOL OF ROCK is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who composed 14 songs to create the score, which also features all of the original songs from the movie. Ohlook has been granted a special license to perform this show while it is still performing on Broadway! Come join us and add a Regional Premiere to your resume! Performances: April 15 - May 1 Rehearsal Schedule will be set after auditions. You must audition during our Spring Auditions (Jan. 22, 23, or 24) to be considered for this show. Billy Goats Gruff - Seattles Littlest Performers
This camp will combine drama, with the music and dance styles of Michael Jackson! We will be acting out an original interpretation of this classic Norwegian Folktale with a BIG twist! In this tale, we learn that Father Troll is only trying to feed his family, and that he is not so back after all. On Stage: Footlight Camp - Matilda - Takoma Park Community Center
In On Stage: Footlights, everyone shines! Our camp is designed to allow students the opportunity to dive into performance and design/construction aspects of theatre by working on an abridged production. This year, students will perform 2-3 musical numbers from the Broadway hit, Matilda , based on Roald Dahls beloved book. All songs will be performed as a group, and everyone will get a chance to be Matilda! Well start each day with physical, vocal, imagination & focus building warm-ups. Heres what well be doing: * creating & developing characters * learning music/songs * blocking/choreographing musical numbers * playing drama games * getting to know the theatre space and theatre terminology * set design and construction * working with props and costumes Our goal is to have every student on stage, every student engaged in the creative process, every student proud of their work. Fridays camp hours are extended to 3pm because Footlights students will join the Spotlight campers for final rehearsals and performance on Friday, July 15!
