What if My Child Has Dietary Restrictions?
Dietary restrictions and allergies are very common. Summer programs are prepared to accommodate everything from nut and dairy allergies to vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan diets. Some groups even have peanut-free areas. Experienced chef s follow federal food requirements to ensure have balanced meals. Food safety is incredibly important. Thus, cross-contamination will not happen thanks to the skilled kitchen staff. If there are any dietary restrictions or allergies, it is important for parents to note this on the health form. In particular, if a child is at risk for anaphylaxis, it is important to highlight this and send information about treatment...
