Kid's Summer Clay Camp - San Pedro, CA
CLAY CAMP - 3 days Monday, June 20th, Tuesday June 21st and Monday June 27th, 2016 8:30am - 12:30pm at Seaside Studios San Pedro Projects will include making fairy/troll habitats for the garden! The first 2 days in camp we will be forming our projects utilizing basic hand building techniques such as coil, slab and pinch pot techniques. The 3rd day (Monday of the following week) will be for glazing the piece with the goal of having a finished fired piece by end of the mixed arts camp July 1st. Kid's clay camp is recommended for kids between the ages of 7 and 13 years of age. Clay camp is $85 per child per session. It is highly recomended to do both clay and mixed arts camps if possible as they tie in nicely together. Camp Fowler Festif - Orefield, PA
Now in its 5th year, Festif is a family fun event that combines cycling, trail running, entertainment, food, and fun. Rides range from family friendly distances to a quad burning 44 miles. All riders will have cue sheets and routes well marked. There will be rider support on each route and both the 20 and 44 mile route each have a well stocked rest stop. NEW for 2016: 5k and 10k Fox and Hound runs! Chase our "fox" around Camp Fowler during these trail runs. The 5k is both family and walker friendly and prizes will be given to anyone who is able to follow the foxes clues and catch them before the finish. Cycling or running isn't for you? Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in Washington. The Seattle Prep lacrosse camp promises to be the premier camp in Seattle for 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys of all skill and experience levels. The fast-paced camp will feature skill work, station work and scrimmages with a player to coach ratio of one to five, ensuring campers of all levels receive the attention to maximize their experience. Skills Emphasized: Core mechanics of shooting, passing and ground balls - shooting on the run and with time/space - attacking the goal and dodging - individual and team defense - face-off specialization - goalie coaching - game play. Note: All players supply their own lacrosse equipment (helmet, stick, gloves and pads, etc.). Head lacrosse coach, Rich Stearns, grew up playing lacrosse in Scarsdale, NY and went on to play at Northwestern University for four years. Last year, Coach Stearns took over as the varsity boys lacrosse head coach at Prep. Since humans began communicating, there has always been an urge to keep certain information underground: intended for certain eyes only and unreadable to all others. In this course, youll study, crack (decipher) and create (encipher) messages in a variety of cipher systems and historical contexts. Although youll time-hop throughout history and make stops with Julius Caesar, Ben Franklin and Abe Lincoln, among many others, youll end with an exploration of how cryptography--the study of codes and ciphers--has kept up with, and even created, the modern digital age. The U.P. Python Golf Team is the perfect vehicle to introduce kids to the game of golf. Fun, friends and positive coaching are the key elements along with spending the majority of all practice time on the golf course. NTPGA Team Golf Tournaments will provide fun opportunities to compete in tournaments that will be "scaled down" to fit the beginning golfers abilities. The team will practice on Wednesdays from 4:15-5:30pm at Watters Creek and Saturday morning from 9:30-10:45 at Keeton Park. ***Please note the two different practice locations.
