Marlena Vendemia - Bio Marlena Vendemia worked in the corporate fitness setting before earning her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from The Pennsylvania State University. She currently holds a position as a Penn State fitness instructor working with pregnant women as part of the Healthy Moms Research Study. Most recently, Marlena earned her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification. She found her yoga practice as a stay at home mother to her two small children. Marlena was drawn to pursue this certification due to the benefits she found through her own yoga practice. Her yoga practice has allowed her to find space, connection and possibility through the physical experience, things she hopes to help other students find as well. Her goal is to bring classes filled with truth, authenticity, love and fun to the State College community. In addition to teaching yoga at The PYP Studio, State College, Marlena also serves on the school board for Our Lady of Victory Preschool and on the advisory board for Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, University Park Campus. My son started as a 6 year old and now he's going to be a 15 year old Leader in Training. For him, the freedom to be active in a beautiful country environment, play games, and swim was important (and he learned a lot about nature along the way). The camp features daily themes that will be explored through vinyasa practice, dance and theater improvisation, games, and meditation time. Mindfulness arts crafts may include: Personalized meditation eye-pillows Mindfulness gazing jars Mandala Coloring Painting Meditation bracelets Personalized Aromatherapy Oil The daily schedule includes a lunch time and a snack time – campers need to provide their own lunch and snack. We hope that our campers will get an inside look at our womens basketball program here at Nebraska University. Our campers can expect to learn both basic funadmentals and advanced skills. Our campers will also benefit from working with a division one staff in addition to our womens basketball players.
