Toddler Boot Camp: 'I'm a Big Kid Now' - Battle Creek, MI
Youngsters and their families will enjoy stories, crafts, songs, and surprises at Toddler Boot Camp. This themed four-week story time is geared to children 1-5 years old to encourage them to transition from the baby stages to a big kid. Stories and songs such as "Bye Bye Binky," " No More Diapers," and "No More Monsters," will be shared to make transitioning for parent and child a fun experience.

I.G.N.I.T.E Youth Camp Retreat - Trevor, WI
Our goal is to refresh your children spiritually as well as socially before returning back to school. This will be a great opportunity for all of us to get connected and stay connected for years to come. Promised Land Ministries is a Christian based organization that holds retreats for an array of different ministries including youth. We have joined together with them to create an eventful, fun-filled experience for August. Our days will be packed with loads of fun outdoor activities, balanced out with daily devotions and small group breakout sessions. We will be camping in tents so please be aware. This retreat is for members only between the ages of 12-18. The cost will be $90.00 per individual covering everything including; food, shelter, transportation, activities, etc. We will be having multiple fundraisers prior in the hopes that every child will be paid for in full. In order for those fundraisers to be successful we need your child’s attendance. Please encourage and support them in attending these fundraisers to promote responsibility and achievement. This class is designed for beginners to sewing. Students will learn how to use the sewing machine and hand stitch, along with how to cut, safety pin, and baste fabric. Sewing teaches hand and eye coordination, as well as hand dexterity. The projects are fun and simple. To start our sewing tool collection, the first project we will complete is a pincushion. You and your child will enjoy this special bonding time through peek-a-boo, finger plays, bouncing games, and theme-based songs and chants. This class provides a fun, learning environment for introducing your child to the wonderful world of music. Adapted Bike Camp - Forsythe Middle School
This summer, LightUp is pleased to be partnering with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation & Education Department to bring an exciting new bike camp to Ann Arbor. This camp gives individuals with special needs the thrill of independently riding a two-wheel bicycle. Developed by iCan Shine Inc., this program is offered through a 5-day summer camp. Camp runs during the week of June 27th for 75 minutes per day, there are 5 sections of camp to choose from. Monday- Friday , 75 minutes per day. This summers (2016) camp is geared specifically to the needs of youth diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To apply, complete an application with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation and Education Department. LightUp will provide a limited number of scholarships to families who may qualify based on financial need. Follow this link to apply to LightUps financial scholarship.
