Youth strength and conditioning camp - Houston, TX
Calling all youth athletes and aspiring athletes!!! Parents, Bring your kids out to this clinic to improve their knowledge and skills in core strength, conditioning, footwork and combat fighting drills. This is a free event that is proposed for kids from second to eighth grade. The instructors of this event are Police Officers who enjoy working with youth on becoming better people and athletes while giving tips to improve their proficiency in any sport. If you are interested in signing your child up for this event please contact one us in a direct message. Again, we want to advise that this event is designed to give workout tips to all athletes!!!! Please be aware that this is a volunteered event and injury may occur. If injury occurs, we encourage parents to contact medical personnel. Please be aware of your child health conditions before attending this event. Instructors will not be liable for any injury that occurs. Upon arrival, Parents are encouraged to check in child(s) at 7am. Please arrive in workout attire with tennis shoes. Bring a towel, plenty of water and fruit. Teen Sewing Boot Camp - Edmonds, WA
Is your teen bored already? Sign him/her up for our week long beginning sewing boot camp running Monday through Friday, July 19 through 22 from 10 am to 2 pm daily. They will learn basic hand sewing techniques by hand making their own pin cushion and then graduate to sewing a pillowcase, pajama pants a skirt and other cool stuff., including getting to participate in a community project. You will need to bring your own sewing machine if you have one, and basic sewing supplies. A list of fabrics and notions will be sent to you once you have registered. Cost is $100. 4B. Summer Camp - Java Game Programming - 5 Days - Gizmos & Gadgets Kids Lab
Students will learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Students will build on what they learn each day. This includes learning how to program frames, colors and programming moving objects. The week begins with simple programming until it builds by the end where students will be able to create the game of pong in Java. No programming experience is necessary but doing common tasks on a computer is useful. Who knows, maybe you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs living in your house and you never knew it! Camp Houston Levee (CITs) - Houston Levee Park
Is your child too old for camp but still likes to have a little fun? Camp Houston Levee is seeking Counselors-In-Training for this years summer camp. Requirements include: * Must be at least 14 years old and a rising freshman in high school * Participate in the interview process * Be able to assist for 7 of the 8 weeks of summer camp AND * Complete the CIT Orientation Session In return, we will provide: * A summer of fun activities * Opportunities to take on leadership roles, and * An engaging, learning experience The fee of $115 covers a percentage of the cost for staff shirts, field trips and Friday lunches. We will be accepting up to 16 applications but only 8-10 participants will be chosen to participate as a CIT. This decision will be determined on a first come-first-serve basis during the interview process. Applications will be accepted starting April 1st and close once all positions have been filled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate with them to their interview. Gymnastics - Intermediate Gymnastics Camp - Jefferson County Community Center
This camp is for gymnasts that have mastered basic positions and skills. The intermediate gymnastic level introduces the gymnast to skill on the high beam, handstand forward rolls, round offs, front walkovers and back walkovers. Gymnasts will also work on skills using the bars and springboard. Parents please provide snacks for your child, as we will be breaking daily for a snack.
