This camp is designed for AP Java (including object oriented programming concepts) and is for the students who are planning to take AP computer science or AP java course in high school. This camp will also be helpful for the students planning to take java course in college or planning to go into the computer science related fields. Students will learn the building blocks of Java language and object oriented programming - starting from variables, conditions, loops, arrays and all the way to classes, objects & constructors. Each class will include hands-on activities and student will work on the project based on the topics covered in the class. ** Java is one of the most popular, relevant and in-demand programming language today. History Comes Alive with Classical Theater - Wizard of Oz - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This is a truly unique course especially designed for the home-schooled that incorporates history, literature, and performance. This classic novel/play will be interpreted and performed as students discuss the playwright and the time in which the author lived. History comes alive as students also create living portraits of imaginary and real characters during that period of history. The Wizard of Oz is a beloved classic. A cyclone carries Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to the magical land of Oz, where they encounter all the famous characters from the pen of L. Frank Baum... Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the rubber-legged Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, Oz, Munchkins, Winged Monkeys, The Witch of the North, and the evil Witch of the West, who is determined to destroy Dorothy and steal the secret of her magical slippers. Students will learn performance skills as they practice techniques for stage acting along with the wonderful experience of performing this classic play. 302 239-2434 x120

Artists will explore color, shape, and texture through two and three-dimensional projects. Over the course of this class, students will work with pencil, marker, paint, clay, paper, and recycled materials. Class meets for 8 weeks (Apr. 10 - June 5). No class on May 29. 301-588-2787
