The Grunch - A Musical Theater Production Camp! Ages: 3rd - 8th Grade in the Fall of 2016 Join the cast of this 1-hour musical which will perform 2 shows at the Numerica Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 24 at 2:00 and 7:00 PM. Inspired by The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; hell steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. Fairy Tales Through a Microscope - The Evergreen School
Fairy tales do not require fairies… interesting! In this class, students will be examining fairy tales. Where did the term fairy tales come from? When did fairy tales begin? Some fairy tales explored this week include The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Frog Prince. The original versions will read and discussed. We will take a look at todays childrens literature and how fairy tales have changed through the years… often in funny ways. We will explore different versions of tales from different cultures. Ahh, the natural world - a canvas of beauty that has enchanted artists since the beginning of time! Young artistes will learn how to paint ‘en plein air and travel to Georgia OKeeffe country for an overnight campout, using the light and landscape for inspiration. We will cool off in Abiquiu Lake in between art sessions before heading home to Santa Fe to complete our plein-air art adventure! 505-699-6230
