Young Explorers: Nature, Art and Cooking - Building H
Heres your chance to take walks in the woods, visit the creek, make nature inspired art, and prepare varied foods! Well create Paper Mache animals and other nifty art projects. Campers will also learn how to prepare foods from scratch, including guacamole, pasta and cookies - and have fun eating them for snack! For fun, adventurous, and outdoor loving young people. Percussion Camp - MPLS - MacPhail Center for Music - Mpls
Build your skills on all percussion instruments in this intensive and fun five-day camp. Each day you will play exciting music in small percussion ensembles with other students of similar ability and skill level on a variety of instruments. Students will have the opportunity to select clinics that focus on specific instruments such as drum set, snare drum, timpani and mallet keyboard instruments. During the week students will also learn practical skills such as making their own mallets and tuning their own snare drum. All student ensembles will perform for family and friends on the last day of camp. Students must have one year of band of a year of private instruction in preparation for this camp. Students outside of the age range but who have had comparable experience may contact the camp coordinator, Bob Adney, at 612-767-5410, for placement. Our advanced camps are aimed towards players aged 10 and above who have playing experience. This camp is all about improving your technical ability and knowledge of the game. A big part of this camp is working on positioning, decision making, applying skills in the right times and allowing players to learn through playing the game. Through the week you will work on technical skills such as: - Passing and moving into space - Creating angles - Dribbling/running with the ball - First touch/control of the ball - Attacking and defending headers - Crossing and finishing - Shooting from range - 1v1 attacking and defending - Attacking and defending overloads (916) 827-0820
MS Programming with Processing Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
This camp uses the Processing programming language to learn more about programming while making interactive illustrations, animations, and simple games. The Processing language is based on the popular Java language and is designed to appeal to visual artists, so this is a good way to get started in "real" programming. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM, M-F. Lunch is provided. This camp is open to students entering 7th-10th grade. Campers must have taken the Middle School Graphics and Robotics camp prior to this camp. 801-585-1726
