The Wallis is pleased to offer an opportunity for youth ages 12-18 to become a Student Arts Reporter. This program is designed for students interested in the arts and journalism or critical writing. The Wallis is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle and other local media partners to help mentor students to view productions with a critical eye and write reviews for selected Wallis performances throughout the season. Albany Gems Summer Youth Dance Camp - Albany, OR
The Gems are hosting their 2nd Annual Summer Dance Camp on July 16-17th, 2016. This is a two day camp for 1st - 8th grade dancers of all abilty and skill levels. All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. Classes will be divided into Mini, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Class descriptions will be posted later in the comments. Dancers will stretch and warm up together, learn a entire camp dance, learn level appropriate dance routines, practice technical skills that apply to all dancers, and dancers will be given snack and lunch breaks both days. At the end of the second day (3:00pm) there will be a family and friends show so that your dancers can show you what they've been working on. An entire week devoted to the questions who, what, where, when and why. This is a camp all about exploring our very own science projects. Campers will try things like blowing up a balloon with pop rocks, making a lava lamp and dying flowers. Our laboratory will be over flowing with hypotheses, chemistry, laws of gravity and properties of matter. Lets learn, have fun, get messy and a little mad all while being a scientist!! 1) Red Rockets Session 8 - Bolles San Jose Campus
Our Red Rockets class will help your child learn the skills that make up the foundation of tennis playing. Activities focus on building agility, balance and coordination skills (The ABCs), while developing the on court skills needed to serve, rally, and score. Children also begin to learn useful execution of tennis specific footwork patterns (i.e. split step, side shuffle).
