This camp gives students the chance to develop socially and musically. My 10 year old daughter loves the fact she can be out in nature, feels safe and can learn about music with like-minded children. When: Nov. 13-15 Where: Focus Point Base Camp in Alba, TX Who: Grades 7th – 12th Students and parents, we are excited to announce that we have set a date for the fall youth retreat and service project. We’re looking forward to a packed weekend of bible study, worship, fellowship, service and fun. There is a cost of $45 per person, student and volunteers, and your contribution covers the cost of the 2 night stay and 4 meals. More information will be communicated in the next week. Survivors Supporting Survivors TEEN SUPPORT GROUP This group is designed to offer an opportunity for the teens to talk about the struggles of a cancer diagnosis without becoming a counseling group. We set the table in a variety of way to help the healing process happen much faster. We guide them in real life challenges and allow them to discuss and support each other in ways you don’t see in normal life. Come prepared for an outdoor farm experience: dress weather-appropriate! It's gonna be jammed packed with exercises on great communication, problem solving skills and fun team building moments that bond these teens together. July 22: Sculpture - Inspired Minds - Studio A
Parents can go out for some free time knowing their children are being inspired on a Friday night! Each Friday we will be offering a 3 hour drop off class, with a break for some pizza and a game. Students will be guided through a 1 day art project with room for creativity and exploration. Skilled instruction whether your child is a beginner or a seasoned artist looking to learn new techniques. 732-530-3444
Camp - Junior Theater S2 M-F 9:30 am (Ages 7-12) - Beck Center for the Arts
This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Junior Theater Camp is designed for all students, whether or not they have prior performance experience. Campers work with theater professionals learning techniques in acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for their original show. This fun performance is a culmination of their work and features acting scenes and musical numbers. Actors present the show for family and friends on the last day of camp, August 12 at 11:30 am and 6:30 pm on the stage in Beck Centers Music & Dance Building Recital Hall. Information concerning performances and tickets is distributed the first day of camp. Students are required to participate in both performances. 3 weeks; Mon - Fri; 12:30 - 2:30 pm; Tuition: $270 (Does not include admission to performances) Tickets to the performances are $5 each. Performance seating is limited. There is a 30-minute informational orientation for parents and students on the first day of camp. Lunch-time supervision provided for students enrolling in both the Visual Arts and Junior Theater Camps. Learn the ins and outs of camp through exploring with a half day. Camp Discovery is a great way to introduce your child to the camp experience. The camp will be combined with the K-2 camp located at the Butterfield Park District. Children will experience a wide variety of nature, crafts, sports, and games. This camp is designed as a 4 day program. There will be no attendance on Wednesdays due to field trips with K-2 Camp. INSTRUCTOR Kristyn Cochrane
STILL LIFE PAINTING (2 Hours) SAT - Loudoun Arts Center
Students will learn different aspects of line, shadow, volume, and composition by working from drawings of the Masters - still life and plein air. Create beautiful still lifes and plein air landscape paintings from photos, models, and nature. Students will discover how to create strong compositions, design, and light effects while developing their personal style. 703-444-5888
Totally Turtles - E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center
This summer camp adventure starts with creative turtle art lessons in the morning and nature adventures in the afternoon. Finally end your day with museum discovery time! *Create exciting turtle inspired art and paint beautiful patterns on our own turtle shells! Hands-on turtle fun with Turtle Bob plus take a short adventure to the gopher tortoise pen to see these digging turtles in their natural environment. Wear/Bring closed toe shoes for the adventure!
