SESSION 2 JUNE 27-29 Catch a Wave – An introduction to musical theater Monday – Wednesday AM Session: 9am -11:30am For kids who are 4 or 5 years old during camp Fee: Early Bird - $50, General - $55 ($60 on or after May 15) Campers will learn to explore their creativity through music, movement, acting games, arts and crafts. This camp gives kids a great introduction to theater arts in a nurturing and warm atmosphere using beach-themed scene and music. Arts on the River Camp - MacPhail Center for Music - Minneapolis
$225 for members of participating organizations; $250 for non-members Come to our waterfront to play music, get creative, bake bread and construct books while exploring the theme of "water." Children enjoy new experiences each day at four top arts centers, including the Guthrie Theater, Mill City Museum, Minnesota Center for Book Arts and MacPhail Center for Music. Campers will start each day at Mill City Museum and walk with camp leaders less than three blocks to each art organization. Early drop off between 8:30 - 9:00 and late pick up between 3:30 - 4:00 available. Discover how easy it is to find the funny. No memorization, no rehearsals, no mistakes - just bring your desire to have a good time. INSTRUCTOR BIO: KEELY KIRK stepped into the improv abyss at a tender age and found a place to be herself. She began training with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv/sketch troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse until Hurricane Andrew blew it all away. She went on to be a principal performer for over ten years with Laughing Gas Comedy Improv --Miamis longest-running improv theatre company. She then decided that Miami was just too warm and balmy and moved to Chicago (the improv epicenter), where she was involved with and trained with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. While in Chicago, Keely decided to follow President Obama to Washington D.C., to become his presidential jester; however, due to government cutbacks, she was furloughed.
