LATEST CAMPS NEWS: AIDE (Girls entering Grades 8-10 who have completed the AIT program) - Huddart Park
Girls entering grades 8 through 10 in Fall 2016 serve as assistant staff at Day Camp, working with Unit Leaders to supervise campers. Any applicant who has not completed the Diamond Crest AIT Training will be placed in the AIT unit to complete training. Please note, girls must attend camp all days to complete the AIT program. Girls who were AITs last year but did not attend all days of camp must register as an AIT again this year. Girls entering 10th grade who have been an Aide for 2 years may also request to be a Leader in Training (LIT) and work in a unit with two adult leaders if they have completed AIT training and have been an Aide for two years. Aides and AITS may camp overnight twice during camp. July 26 is the Aides-in-Training initiation ceremony and July 27 is the all-camp overnight for girls entering grade 4 or higher. Training for Aides will be held at Huddart Park from 1:00-4:00 pm on Friday, July 15. Mark your calendar now! (Its sign-up and t-shirt day!) CBMM’s Kids Club summer camps for 6-7 Year Olds - Saint Michaels, MD
Beginning June 20 and continuing through July 29, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is offering its week-long, half day Kids Camps, which bring age-appropriate Chesapeake-themed camps for children 4-7 years of age. Led by a CBMM educator, young Kids Club campers explore the magic of the Chesapeake Bay’s people, animals, and watercraft through fun and interactive activities, stories, games, and crafts. CBMM’s summer camps for children 4-5 years of age are offered during the weeks of June 20, July 4, and July 18; camps for children 6-7 years of age are offered the weeks of June 27, July 11, and July 25. Daily camps take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with campers meeting at CBMM’s Dorchester House and exploring the museum’s 18-acre campus and numerous exhibition buildings as part of the program. Participation is limited, with camps filling fast and pre-registration required. The cost for the week-long camp is $125 for CBMM members, or $150 for non-members, with scholarships available.
