Children grades 1st and up are welcome to join us in the first annual Ultimate Fitness Clinic. This summer camp will teach discipline, self-respect, respect for others, and overall wellness all in a UFC fitness inspired class. Kids will learn valuable life disciplines and the importance of physical fitness and healthy nutrition. Baseball Camp - Grades 1-6 - Allmendinger Park
Grades 1-6 Whether your camper has played for a few seasons or is just starting out, this camp is the one to choose! Each day campers work on basic to advanced baseball skills and play a game, too! Participants learn in a safe, structured environment, have fun and gain confidence playing baseball. Daily hitting, fielding, pitching and outfield stations are featured as well as daily trivia contests and prizes for everyone! Campers receive a written evaluation on their skills. Campers should bring mitts, bats, snack, sunscreen and water bottles marked with their name. Coaches: GVP Sports staff. Monday-Friday -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Camp will meet in the rain, shelter available for severe weather. Saturday Theater - The Secret Case of Sherlock Holmes - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
A fully staged production with many levels of depth and humor in this clever mystery. Upstart detectives Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are on their first case. Their client, H.G. Wells has hired them to find a manuscript by Arthur Conan Doyle. Hiding from their angry landlord, Holmes and Watson duck into Wells time machine, and soon find themselves in the 21st century. They end up at the Freudly Institute where they meet inmates who believe they are George Washington, Marilyn Monroe, Tarzan, Emily Dickinson, Lizzie Borden, Count Dracula, and Queen Victoria. Holmes is thought to be just another patient and Watson is his doctor just playing along. When a murder happens on the grounds, Holmes sets out to uncover the clues, while trying to prove he is the real Sherlock Holmes. Using iOS and Android devices, campers will program a robot to do many tricks, including pulling off ollies--a trick where a skateboarder or snowboarder can jump into the air without ramping off something else. This robot can pull off ollies, do a quick spin in place, speed boost while driving (called grabs), jump around like a hot potato, pull off wheelies, or rocket across the room and turn on a dime before zipping off in a new direction. All this as campers have fun mastering basic concepts of programming. Bring your cell phone if you have one. NOTE: THIS PROGRAM RUNS MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FOR A HALF DAY.
