NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. Science of Spirituality, Minnesota, is happy to announce Youth Angels Day Camp 2016 for children and adults. Youth Angel Day Camp is a one day Wintertime indoor Meditation Camp. It is open to children of ages between 5 and 15 and their families. All adults are welcome to join the adult workshop. This camp allows everyone to explore deep inner nature of human being as a spirit/soul. It helps children balance physical and mental learning through meditation, developing spiritual understanding of self and build foundation of being a better human being. We try to make it fun filled so children stay interested and focused while learning a subject that seems difficult. Get on your broomsticks for the most magical sport in the world — Kidditch, or Quidditch for kids! Quidditch is like playing ultimate Frisbee, tag and basketball all at once. In addition to practicing good sportsmanship, safety and teamwork, players will learn the basic rules of quidditch as they try each of the four positions: chaser, beater, keeper and seeker. After reading and researching myths and fairy tales, kids use their findings to construct a magical being and develop a story to tell.
