The camp is staffed by current Flagler College coaches, other college coaches from local schools and universities, elite youth academy coaches as well as current and former Flagler College mens and womens tennis players. What is "Work A Thon"? It's a great opportunity for young people and youth groups to get together, have fun, help the camp, and earn free weeks to use or share with friends. "What do I need to do?" Just because its summer doesnt mean the learning has to stop. Bring your curiosity and check out our newest camp, High-5. We will explore fun activities to enrich your learning. From building projects to cooking and science experiments; Camp High-5 will blend traditional summer games, art & crafts with exciting, indepth, hands on theme based projects. High-5 is moving to a new location on site at Red Morton Community Center, with its very own fenced in playground and in room bathrooms. Come & taste the adventure! Campers will explore some basic cooking techniques and create their own culinary masterpieces from around the world. Ages 10-15: Capital Ultimate Frisbee Camp is a fun alternative for kids who want an active camp but are tired of the same old sports. Ultimate Frisbee is a fast growing, fast paced game that combines skills used in sports like soccer, football and basketball. campers totally newto Frisbee will learn the fundamentals: catching, throwing backhand, forehand, etc. More experienced players will sharpen and extend those skills, plus learn defensive skills, field positioning and more. SLAM SPORTS AND LEADERSHIP CAMP - Memphis University School
SLAM Sports and Leadership Camp offers students a chance to enjoy competitive play while participating in leadership training. This camp is for students who want an overall physical fitness and multisports camp experience. Each afternoon is divided into three periods, including fitness training and various sports and games. After being taught the rules and basic skills of each game, counselors and supervisors will move out of the spotlight to allow campers to choose and organize their own games. This process gives students a chance to take ownership of their own play and make the decisions necessary for a successful game. Camp instructors will supervise all activities, but campers will be required to resolve conflicts, referee their own games, and motivate one another to engage robustly in each activity. This camp is for students who have some exposure to debate or speech activities, a strong interest in debating domestic and foreign affairs, or attended Intro to Debate camps. Advanced Debate Camp reviews the fundamentals of competitive academic debate while deepening your understanding of argument theory, critical thinking, research and speech skills. In Camp Green Science, campers will investigate, discover and explore how the choices we make have a direct impact on the environment we live in and learn simple things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. Through fun, interactive activities, theyll learn about renewable energy including sun, wind, water and even potatoes! Theyll see the Greenhouse effect up close and learn how cow burps are related to trash and climate change. Campers will learn how to clean our oceans, purify drinking water, and start a compost pile. Theyll investigate why the rainforest needs to be saved, make their own paper, plant seeds in recycled paper planters, and taste fresh honey. Theyll snack on solar smores and swamp juice smoothies.
