Our summer comedy camps attract students from all over the world to learn improv, make friends, and perform on our stage! Monday through Friday 9am - 3:30pm Students are grouped by ages 8-10, 11-13, and 14-18. No previous experience is needed. Camp ends with a free show where the students show off what theyve learned! Each day, the students rotate through three subjects: ?Improv: An Intro to the rules of Improv; saying yes, working together, listening, and having fun. ?Sketch Comedy: An intro to the basics of writing sketch comedy scenes. ?Musical Improv: Learn to spontaneously put words to music. Camp-Half Day Week 1: Cosmic Creations (ages 9-12) - Leland Cultural Arts Center
This camp is a creative combination of art and space. Campers will use visual arts to explore the final frontier! Two dimensional projects, such as drawing, painting, and collage, will focus on design elements such as color, line, and shape. Using clay, campers will take inspiration from textures and patterns found in space when they learn the basics of hand building techniques and out-of-this-world wheel throwing. Campers will be divided into separate age groups: Ages 5-8 and 9-12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dress for the mess. Students new to watersports may not be very sure of what type of activity they would like to try. So, we have created a class in which students spend each day experiencing a different water activity - Sailing, Fishing, Exploring Marine Life, Kayaking, and a Power Boating Safety introduction are all part of the week! Finish your summer with a cheer. Join us in the last week of the summer at Whetstone Community Center for cheer and tumbling fun. Campers will learn the basics of stunting, tumbling, jumps, motions, and dance. Our instructors will work with girls and boys ages 6-14 at all skill levels to help them reach their goals in a safe and fun environment. They will also participate in art activities focused toward cheerleading. On Friday afternoon, campers will showcase their cheer skills in a team performance for friends and family members. *Campers are required to bring an extra pair of clean tennis shoes. Flexible drop off time between 7:30-9 am. Flexible pick up time between 4-6 pm. Breakfast and lunch provided.
