THIS IS A 4 DAY CAMP - NO CAMP ON MEMORIAL DAY Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is open to teens age 13-17. At our Counselor in Training Program, teens will be trained in how to work with children, how to handle on animals, and how to be responsible leaders -- all the basics they will need to have a head start on one day leading a group of their own. The cost of this week is $340 upfront. The CIT will receive a check for $160 upon completion of the week of camp. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn! Students will learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Students will build on what they learn each day. This includes learning how to program frames, colors and programming moving objects. The week begins with simple programming until it builds by the end where students will be able to create the game of pong in Java. No programming experience is necessary but doing common tasks on a computer is useful. Who knows, maybe you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs living in your house and you never knew it!
