This camp will provide students with a wonderful treasure chest of the theatre world: performing onstage, singing for musical theatre, and introduction to the backstage support. Campers will learn stage performance through: theatre exercises, improvisation, scene readings, stage movement and auditioning. They will have voice lessons that will emphasize vocal technique, vocal placement and production, breathing, and interpreting songs. All of the above will be combined into a performance to be presented to family and friends on the last day of camp. INSTRUCTOR LINDA WELLS is a private vocal teacher/coach, working primarily with children and teens. She has appeared in many musical theatre productions locally and elsewhere including The Music Man, Sweeney Todd, The Sound of Music, 1776, The Most Happy Fella, Side by Side by Sondheim, Brigadoon, George M!, Fiorello!, Guys and Dolls, and Godspell. Linda is also a professional church soloist and pianist. Wonderful Program
Before settling on the 4-H Center for our daughter's summer camp we had the chance to take a tour. We were very impressed. The bunkrooms were spotless. Although I can only imagine what will happen when the kids move in! They have a full program that is sure to keep the kids busy and challenged throughout their stay. Summer String Fest I with Laura Norris - The Philadelphia School
This program is designed to be an extension of musical learning for students who currently take private violin or cello lessons. During this camp we will learn new songs, discuss playing technique, learn basic music theory, and play music games. We will end the week with a mini-performance, during which campers can showcase what theyve learned. Students who wish to participate must have completed at least one year of private lesson study on their instrument. Early drop off is available at no additional cost from 8:00am-9:00am. 2016 Camper Application - Nantahala Outdoor Center
This summer will be the 22nd year of Adventure Amputee Camp and we keep getting better. We will have a bus ready to pick up campers in Atlanta and take them to camp or you can meet us at camp in Bryson City, NC. Applying to Camp: Priority will be given to new campers and those put on the waiting list last year. Also, medical and liability releases will be required for the safety of your camper and for camp. We can accommodate a maximum of 34 campers. Upon receipt of your application and selection to camp, we will send you a complete information packet with all the camp preparation details. What does it cost? Thanks to the generosity of many donors, a $25 application fee for first time campers, and $50 application for repeat campers. If this fee presents a hardship, check the appropriate box on the application form, and the fee is waived. No camper is turned away due to financial hardship. Television writer and iO West instructor Ed Lee will discuss how television episodes - including pilots - are structured, and how you can apply it to your writing so your television scripts can have the best possible impact on your audience.
