For children going into 2nd and 3rd grade Snakes, frogs and turtles! Campers will be immersed into the habits and characteristics of reptiles and amphibians, including time with live animals. Camp will also include walks, crafts, games and stories. LIGHT TO DARK: DARKROOM EXPLORATION - Walker-MacKenzie Studio - Gertrude Herbert
Instructor: Rosanne Stutts The technical aspects of black-and-white photography will be emphasized so that students can work more creatively with their camera and in the darkroom. Camera operations, use of equipment such as lenses, tripod, and light meter, and correct film selection are among the topics to be covered. Learn basic density and contrast controls for both negatives and prints, along with proper film development. Basic darkroom procedures, safety, printmaking techniques, burning and dodging, toning, archival processing and print presentation will also be discussed. Please bring your own 35-mm camera with manual controls. Each child earns points for participating in our kids Prerace clinic and kids triathlon towards super series awards! Healthy post clinic refreshments and race goodies! Enjoy a week of hiking and exploring the Cascades. We will teach you how or give your hiking skills a challenge. We will take day hikes in the foothills, mountains and along Puget Sound Hiking camps are for youth ages 8 to 16. The difficulties of the hiking routes will be chosen depending on the ability of the campers. All climbing equipment is provided.
