My son is going to be a senior this upcoming year and this past summer, he wanted to go to ASM Materials, Metallurgy, and Forensics Engineering Institute in Rapid City, SD. We reluctantly sent him, but were amazed at all the wonderful things he learned and did while he was there. He had hands-on learning in an educational environment about materials, metals, building and engineering. It was as if he has gone away for a semester of college. 3rd - 5th grade girls: Kids with Wings- Writing & Reading Camp - Saint Marys School
A reading and writing camp designed for 3rd – 5th grade girls. In a guided reading setting the girls will read and discuss childrens literature that focuses on building girls self-esteem. The curriculum includes a daily writing activity that will focus on grade appropriate writing skills and a creative art activity related to each book we read. We will also spend time outside playing games that will build positive friendship skills. Each day will include a snack, lunch and pool time. DeAnna Huffines graduated from Saint Marys in 1983 from high school and 1985 from College. She then attended Meredith College where she majored in education. She has been working with Wake County Public Schools at the elementary level for 18 years and has a small tutoring business on the side. 9194244028.0
Body Contact & Checking Camp - LC Ice Arena
Body Contact/Checking Clinic - Bantam, Midget boys Bantam, & Midget - $350 RMHS is coming to Lewiston for a Checking/Body Contact camp for Bantam, Midgets. The players will be separated into groups by age and skill level. This will ensure the players will be training against players of their skill level for the best possible training environment. During this clinic we will focus on proper body contact along the wall and in the open ice. The RMHS staff will focus on proper body positioning for both giving and receiving body contact. These skills are important to learn for the players where body contact is legal and for the non checking leagues. ATTENTION GOALTENDERS - Every RMHS camp will offer professional goaltending instruction from one of our professional goaltending coaches. We limit theses spots to four goaltenders per group. The Art of Cubism: Clay Reliefs - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This class will explore cubist artist such as Picasso and Braque. Students will create their very own cubist work of art in clay while learning basic techniques of using slabs to create 3/D form. Students will learn basic and intermediate techniques of slab application, handbuilding, texture application, and glass fusion into clay.
