Ranger Kid Day Camp - Christmas, FL
Greetings Leaders, at our last Sectional Leaders meeting we decided to make up the Hurricane Matthew postponed RK Day Camp. We originally decided on January 21, 2017 but that date proved problematic so a consensus with a majority of Outpost Coordinators we have moved the date to February 18, 2017. The date was confirmed with Jungle Adventures today and the price of $12 per boy and adult will hold. The Boy price includes admission, event patch and craft, the adult price is for admission only. If an adult wants the patch it is $2.00 more. Everybody attending needs to have a sack lunch and drink which will be stored in coolers until the lunch break. The times are from 9:30am (registration), with entry to the park at 10am, we plan to conclude by 2pm. Questions should be directed to your Outpost Coordinator or if necessary you can contact Steve Bridges.

This is an event for us to do some work at the new camp and get to know the site. Some food will be provided and all that can show up and help will earn tasty AP! This is not a DR Event of a game running. Howerver all the DR community standards will be upheld. :)

Craft Fair & Flea Market- Benefits Youth Missions Camp & Leadership Re
Since the Dallas Harvest Festival has been cancelled, we have moved our annual Craft Fair fundraiser to that Saturday, (Sept. 19th) cause folks like YOU will be looking for something else to do. Additionally we will be expanding to include a Flea Market! Come shop at the Craft Fair for gifts, home decor, handcrafted jewelry, wood crafts, and more. This year's event includes a flea market, bake sale, and a chili cook-off. The Snackshop will be open with some delicious lunch & dinner specials including our famous APPLE DUMPLINGS!-Get 'em while they last! Proceeds will benefit students attending Student Life Camp and/or the Fall Leadership Retreat.

Latin and Greek Cognates - Morgan Park Academy
It is estimated that 60% of the terminology college students will face come from words formed from ancient Greek and Latin affixes and root words. Knowing how to break down a word which has been formed from Greek or Latin can help a student not only build a working vocabulary, but also help a student construct a basic meaning for a new or unfamiliar word. Students who learn this skill see their vocabularies grow and their anxiety lessen. As students who enter college are faced with not only increased amounts of reading, but also increased difficulty in those readings, having the skill to navigate these readings, assignments, and exams makes academic success much more easily attainable. In this camp your young artist will learn to reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle. Campers will be given the opportunity to develop their artistic skills and engage with their peers while making original artwork with everyday objects. In theater new spins will be put on old tales. Shoot to Score Hockey and the Texas Junior Stars will be hosting the Battle Camp giving players a great opportunity to compete with and against some of the top players in their age group.
