My husband and I were relieved to find a camp that was not only fun for our kids, but it also helped to strengthen their spirituality. Drama Advanced Placement 6:20 PM Thursday - New Childrens Theatre of Cincinnati
Drama Advanced-Prepared to be challenged by the likes of Shakespeare, Mamet and other influential playwrights in our Advanced Drama Class. This class will delve into the techniques used by famous teachers such as Stanislavsky, Chekov and Boal, to truly hone their skills in bringing characters to life on the stage. Please contact Jay Goodlett to confirm that you have the required training to participate. Step into the role of a lifetime and learn the secrets of the Dramatic Arts! Using traditional and modern acting techniques, we will explore the dynamics of drama through the use of scene work. Your teaching artist will assign scenes from both contemporary and classical theatrical plays/musicals as you learn to expand your talents through the help of others. This class inspires strong teamwork, observation, and creativity. The last class of the session will be a performance class. Parents/Guardians are invited to attend. 513-569-8080
SJC - Discovers 2D Animation - SJC Long Island
Computer animation 2D: Using open source and freely available software, campers will learn to create 2D environments, animate their drawings and add color and sound. These are similar to the techniques used in creating professional animated films and video games. Acting Adventures This is a great class for kids who love to engage in creative fun. Students will play popular theatre games that focus on improvisation technique, pantomime, movement and storytelling. By the end of the session, students will be proficient at using their Actors Tools – voice, body, and imagination – to create characters and tell a story. Join the final day of class to see a brief presentation. (8 classes) Class Minimum enrollment of 5. Snacks will be provided. In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage.
