Tween/teen Yoga Camp - Camp Hill, PA
The focus for this program is to inspire and empower tweens and teens and to establish a deeper sense of self respect and self discipline so they can live a more balanced and fulfilled life. We will empower tweens/teens through journaling, breathing practices, meditation, aerial yoga and mat yoga. We'll have fun and learn to trust others and ourselves through partner yoga poses. Though drop in students are welcome, we encourage participants to enroll in the the entire four week program because each week we will build upon the lessons of the previous week. Camp runs 5-6:15pm on Tuesday, July 19 and 26th, August 9 and 16. Please note there is a break the week of August 2. A minimum of 4 students is required to run the program, so please register early! A refund will be given if the minimum number of participants is not met. There will be a maximum of 8 participants, based on the number of aerial yoga hammocks, so pre-registration is required. Singing for the Stage and Beyond - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This class is designed to introduce and strengthen the fundamentals of voice/singing for the adult voice. Students will learn proper breathing placement and projection techniques, as well as technical and interpretive principles. In addition, students will learn to select and prepare songs for their particular voices. Limited to ages 17 and older. INSTRUCTOR BIO: BEVERLEY BENDA, a professional singer by trade, is a classical soprano with The United States Army Band Pershings Own, and Programming NCO and Script Writer for their Public Affairs Office. She has performance and teaching degrees from James Madison University, Eastern Illinois University, and The Eastman School of Music, and has appeared in a variety of musical productions including Brigadoon, Carmen, Carousel, Oklahoma!, Kismet, The Pirates of Penzance, Dialogue of the Carmelites, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, Hollywood Pinafore, Its A Grand Night for Singing, and the first revival of Call Me Mister. Week 8 Young Inventors - Friends School Mullica Hill
This camp will ask our campers to dream big as we spend the week drawing up our creations for another FSMH Summer Camp Worlds Fair! At the weeks end, campers will get some more hands on creative experience with a trip to Wheaton Arts. While morning activities are geared toward the weeks theme, all weekly FSMH camps include a trip to the pool Monday-Thursday for a swim lesson and play time. Interested in letting your creativity run wild on stage? Then choose Improv this summer! Improvisational theatre (Improv) is any unscripted theatrical performance. Completely spontaneous and absolutely wild, improv develops stage presence and interpersonal skills! Each day will be filled with fun stage games and activities including scenarios made popular by the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway? and many more. Crafty Cruisers Grades 4-5 - Community Cycling Center Bike Shop
For the creative rider who derives their inspiration from the bicycle, this is the camp to let their imagination go wild. From small trinkets to a funky custom bike, the possibilities are endless. Campers comb over unserviceable bikes, salvage parts that inspire them, and breathe new life into them by fashioning their own bike-based crafts. Time tends to be split evenly between rides and crafts.
