The camp teaches youngsters ages 8-14 survival skills if they are ever lost or in a dangerous situation. KID'S BEGINNER SEWING ART CAMP June 15 - 17 @10am - 2pm Ages: 12-16 This is not just an ordinary "learn to sew" camp. Our students will design and create their own fabric using surface design techniques. They will learn how to use a sewing machine and also, basic sewing skills. Beginning Writing Camp for Grades K-8 - Slauson Middle School
Beginning Writing Camp 6th year for this popular & well respected camp ! Turn your rough draft into a brilliant masterpiece in this enriching writing camp. Using the Writers workshop research-based curriculum, campers learn and then refine their writing skills. Writers create their own publishing company, then plan, write, illustrate and produce an amazing picture book. Each writer has an individual writing conference, that helps them gain insight and confidence into their self-expression. Discussions may include qualities of good writing, overcoming writers block, writing motivation, craft of writing, anti-bias and multicultural themes and much more. Children are exposed to a wide range of literature, are taught to use author studies, and gain other strategies to help their work shine. An art exploration component may include graphic design; value study; use of color, drawing and illustration; and experimenting with collage, watercolor, colored pencil and more. Dog Trick Week 7 - Animal Training Adventure Center
Dog Trick Training is a great way to have fun with your dog, and it allows campers to open up a genuine form of two-way communication between them and their dog. Trick training also helps build confidence in dogs and their handlers; and the more tricks you teach, the faster your dog will learn each new skill. Each session will focus on learning a series of three dog tricks, with bonus learning opportunities for exceptionally skilled dogs. This session will utilize training skills and techniques developed by Kyra Sundance, a world-acclaimed Stunt Dog Show performer, celebrity dog trainer, and internationally bestselling author. Campers will have the opportunity to learn and practice advanced dog training skills in order to train their dog to perform tricks. Campers can choose to train their own dog, or they can work with a rescue puppy or dog available at camp. Dogs must be able to focus on their owner and work around other dogs. Camp Colley - 5 Nights - Town of Fountain Hills
CAMP COLLEY OVERNIGHT YOUTH CAMPS Overnight Youth Camps are designed to teach riding skills, horse care, canoeing and outdoor recreational skills. Life skills such as responsibility, empathy, and communication are emphasized in each activity. Campers ride a minimum of two hours per day in a series of riding lessons, games, and trail rides. Camp Colley partners with Hunkapi Horse Programs to provide overnight camps. This unique partnership will give campers additional opportunities at camp including, but not limited to, hiking, nature education, CANOEING, mountain biking, archery, and arts and crafts.
