The Southern Region 4-H Teen Leadership Conference (SLTRC) is scheduled for September 24-27, 2015, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville. This event is open to senior 4-H members (9-12 grade as of January 1, 2015). SLTRC is an outstanding opportunity to help youth develop leadership skills, citizenship skills and help them find opportunities to put those skills to use in their community. The registration fee for this conference is $180.00 which includes lodging, meals and a t-shirt.

Mon, July 18, 2016 - Fri, July 22, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Print It! Stamp It! Stomp It! (Ages 4-7) Our youngest artists will have an exciting time becoming printmakers. Students will engage in group activities designed to promote teamwork and creative thinking through the creation of a collaborative class project, will make their own stamps and printing plates, use an etching press and have a stomping good time with Miss Marjorie! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Sculpt This! (Ages 8-12) Students will explore sculpture by examining the distinct ways artists have explored 3D forms throughout history. We will examine a variety of materials used by sculptors and learn techniques that artists use to communicate their ideas and feelings in three dimensions and get inspired to create their own! Week 5 AM - Dynamic Earth - Wuskenau Beach
The earth is constantly changing and moving. Most of the time we dont even notice unless there is a big change! Discover how coastlines and islands were formed, experiment with how water moves through sediment, and explore the science of hurricanes and how they affect the coastline. Go kayaking, snorkeling, and boogie boarding to become one with our dynamic Earth! Includes: boogie boarding, kayaking, snorkel adventures, playing in the salt pond and the ocean. 860-535-9362

This session is for kindergarten and first grade students only. No class March 28 or April 25. ------------------------------------------- This is the perfect Spring camp for our young scientists! Well explore the fascinating life of pirates, and the world they lived in. The beautiful ocean presents us with several activities exploring sea life and shore life. Fun tennis specific activities to develop balance, agility, ball tracking and hand/eye coordination. Kids will practice sending & receiving the ball and serving overhead on small courts, with balls that bounce slower and lower, just for them! Please bring appropriate size racquet: 19"-21".
