I went to Big Lake Youth Camp when I was younger and I always remembered it being the best part of my summer vacation. Now I send my son and he says the same thing. The counselors are super friendly and always helpful to my son. He has made so many new friendships that he’ll keep for many years. Our service project will be this Saturday. We'll meet up at church first at 8:30 AM and go from there. The project will last until 12:00 PM. All are welcomed to participate, but remember, you must be there if you anticipate that you'll be requesting a need-based scholarship for Teen Camp 2015. This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.Extended care is offered before and after camp at Cabin John Ice for the Summer Fun Ice Skating Camp. Individual days ($8 per morning session, $12 per afternoon session) can be arranged and paid for in person at the rink, space permitting. Late pickup fee is $5 for each 15 minutes. AKA presents Football and Basketball for Week 9 of the AKA All Sports Camp at the Coon Rapids Ice Center. With the NFL, college, and high school mini-camps getting started all around the country, we wanted to the North Metro a youth football camp. Boys and girls are welcomed and encouraged to partake in the football events. Events include drills, obstacle courses, offensive and defensive techniques and plenty of flag football games for everyone. Kids will also get a Basketball Camp, complete with skills, games and competitions. Featured Field Trip : Valley Fair Amusement and Water Park, August 6. FYI - The actual day camp runs from 9am-4pm though kids are welcome to get dropped off as early as 7am and picked up as late as 6pm. There is so much activity between these hours! From 2D to 3D: Transforming Concept to Production (Ages 9+) - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Learn about the process of taking an idea from concept, to drawing, to a printable 3D model. Students will spend the first part of the course at Ah Haa exploring both geometric and organic drafting by hand and discussing how to create art for the printing process. The course will then move to Pinhead, where students will learn how to turn their art into computerized 3D models using Solidworks. Their drawings of jewelry, ornaments, sculptures, and more will then be brought to life with Pinheads 3D printer. 970.728.3886
Lil Sluggers N Kiddie Kickers Camp - Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center
Time for some t-ball and kickball! This camp will combine these two, fun common sports. Kids will learn the similarities of these sports, how both are properly played and learn the basic fundamentals of both. Running the bases, throwing, catching and fielding skills that are similar to both sports will be taught. Boys and girls will also learn the fundamentals that are unique to t-ball and kickball like hitting off of the tee and kicking the ball. Games will be played each day with an emphasis on teamwork and good sportsmanship. Each participant should bring a water bottle. SportsKids Inc. staff will teach the camp.
