The Pulse Dance Team Summer Intensive is a training camp for our current members and all Seattle Prep students who are interested in joining the 2016-17 team. The dancers will be learning an array of hip hop styles including high energy and acrobatics, hard hitting isolations, and even lyrical hip hop. We will also be learning core techniques and skills in dance such as improvisation, conditioning of the body, learning choreography faster and how to give quality performances. Students will be introduced to the beauty and fun of insects and will explore their environments in a class where art meets science. Young entomologists will create a variety of 2D and 3D forms using materials from nature and an army of art supplies using paint, collage, clay, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Come bug out with us! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Spring Break Camp: Wed - Ave A 4th-6th Grade - Hutch Rec -Downtown
Unfortunately, parents dont get Spring Break like kids do, so we are now offering a safe and fun place for your child(ren) from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on March 21st-25th! Daily field trips, fun activities and sports opportunities will keep your child busy. Each day will center around a different theme. Two locations available. Discounted price for enrolling all 5 days. Theater Camp discount also available for those in all 5 days of Spring Break Camp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Participants in Spring Break camp will be bused to and from the Flag Theater daily. This camp includes arts/crafts, sports, games, daily swimming & movies. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be provided. Discounts are available for families enrolling multiple children. The first week of camp which you register for, the FULL camp payment is due at the time of registration. All other weeks which you register, a $20.00 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space in that week of camp. Theater skills in vocalization, stage direction, choreography, creating the scene, characterizations, song interpretation, improvisation, costuming and stage make-up will be coveredSome shows under consideration are Annie, Grease, Mary Poppins, Wicked, The Wiz, Chorus Line, Les Miz, Sound of Music , Beauty and the Beast and other popular Broadway Hits. This camp offers many, many choices. It will be a collection of lots of beads of all colors and lots of charms to choose from. What fun adding art with beading. We will also work with watercolor and teach art through design keeping with our theme for the week. We provide the snacks and drinks, so no need to bring anything. Looking forward to this fun camp. Campers will be offered the chance to play their favorite character in a fairy tale mashup that promises lots of laughs and maybe a lesson or two. They will learn the basics of theatre performance while rehearsing a show that will be performed for family and friends on the last day of class. When campers are signed up, please tell us what character they would like to be and the teachers will write an original play incorporating all the chosen characters. Cutoff date for signups is July 13 (to complete script writing).
