Congressional Debate Camp - Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy
Are you comfortable with the world as it is or would you like to be an agent of change? In a democratic society, in a business, or in an organized group of individuals, change occurs through persuasion and negotiation. By attending this camp, students will learn the basics of congressional debate and parliamentary procedure. Through a blend of games, discussions, outdoor activities, and practice sessions, they will hone analytical skills, impromptu responses, and speaking abilities. This camp is open to students at middle and high school grade levels, with or without experience in debate or student congress. 248-373-5300

9th - 12th grades: SAT Prep - Critical Reading and Writing - Saint Marys School
Prepare for SAT success! In this rigorous, half-day camp, youll learn the form and style of the test--which was completely redesigned as of March 2016--as well as the essential content and strategies for approaching each question on the critical reading and writing portions of the SAT. You will learn how to recognize the types of questions asked on the reading passages, become a more critical reader, and identify the evidence on which your answers are based. For the writing section, we will review the most commonly tested grammar rules and skills as well as learn and practice what it takes to write an outstanding essay, which is now optional and follows a completely different format from the previous version of the SAT. Youll leave this camp with the confidence and skills to make your best score yet on critical reading and writing! (An SAT book will be provided.) Repurposed Junk and Upcycled Funk - Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art
This camp is overflowing with creative uses for everyday objects. We will make instruments, art, and gadgets from seemingly useless items. Straws arent just for drinking, balloons arent just for parties, and old cardboard has more uses than you can imagine. We will be thinking outside the box and learning some fun science along the way in this trash to treasure adventure. C: Performance One - TitO Gate House
For students ages 9-11 who are interested in more of a performance challenge, we offer our 6-week Performance Class. Participants in this class will be involved in a full-scale production, from auditions to set building to opening day. Exclusive Camp for Pre-school Boys and Girls ages 3-5 years old! This camp introduces our little future athletes to a combination of traditional sports games and physical education activities.
