Lets Cook Camp - Quince Orchard Valley Neighborhood Park
Campers will spend the week making delicious desserts and mouth-watering main courses. Through daily hands-on cooking, campers will learn creative ways to cook some of their favorite dishes. Campers will learn how to make healthy cooking choices, read food labels, write recipes, measure cooking ingredients, determine proper portion sizes, and more! Please bring a light snack, or a lunch if your child is enrolled in camps all day. A $20 material fee will be collected on the first day of camp. Camp Collegiate Session 8 3rd-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hawley Session 8: Crime Busters Camp. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer! Each day at camp begins at 9:00 AM with a game of Capture the Flag and ends at 3:00 PM with a fun closing activity where the Happy Camper for the day is announced. Global Video Game Designer #2 - Middle School
Students shouldnt just be playing video games, they should be MAKING their own games using video cameras, sensors, and drawings. Students even get to remix what others have done to hack their games! By learning Scratch (designed by the brilliant folks at MIT), your child will get to impress you with his or her cool and original creations. Plus, your child will be doing a good deed while gaming, as with all Level Up Village classes, 30% of the profits go towards funding a Global Partner class of students who live in poverty. Using video chatting, your child and his or her global partner will get to hack into each others games! All the while, your child will be learning about math, logic, coding and presentation skills.
