Race for the Campers 5K, 10K, and Kid's 1 Mile Adventure Runs - Trout
Get a taste of what Camp Jonah has to offer its campers in these 10k, 5k, and kid’s 1 mile adventure runs; with all proceeds going directly to camp scholarships to help get kids to camp! If you like your races with a little more "fun" than "run" Jonah’s 5k obstacle run is the race for you. Test your limits by wading through mud pits, scaling climbing walls, conquering inflatable obstacles, dodging flying water balloons, and battling many more surprises along the way. Win the race to be crowned camp King or Queen. Be sure to bring your messy clothes/shoes, you may get dirty! Four Elements Kid's Camp - Naples, FL
Children 5 to 12 years are invited to one or both days of our half-day camps. Our activities will reflect each of these four elements, and be predominantly outside, so dress for comfort! We’ll explore air and fire on Thursday, learning about the power of air currents and our biggest fireball, the sun. On Friday, special guest Valerie Flanigan from Driftwood Garden Center will help us make and/or decorate stepping stones for our garden (earth), then we move to the element of water, where we create an ocean in a bottle and play with watercolor magic. We end with Tai Chi by Elena Roubicek! Registration is required and each session is limited to 10 participants so we can give our best to each child. All materials are provided, including a snack. This is the first of 2 prison visits to this youth prison. This is one of 3 opportunities to interact with troubled youth in an effort to disuade them from the road to ruin they are on and introduce them to the road less travelled. Week 3 PM - Fly Fishing - NESS
Come join NESS to learn about the fantastic sport of fly fishing. Saltwater fly fishing is used to target a variety of species available depending on the season. Striped bass and bluefish are local all summer, with the occasional transient like banded rudder fish and jack crevalle. Learn saltwater specific fly fishing techniques to fish your local waters. Gain experience in casting, tackle and fly selection, rigging, fish fighting and proper release techniques. This activity demands specific methods and large areas of space so enrollment is limited. Students should bring their own fishing rods and tackle ready for use. Some NESS rods are available and bait will be provided, please call to inquire. Join Northwestern Goalkeeper Trainer and former Pro, Ovidio Felcaro, for the goalkeeper-specific curriculum at the Residential Camp. Players will be exposed to modern goalkeeper training techniques and coaching which will include (but is not limited to) footwork, basic handling, advanced handling, diving, cross management, distribution, and decision making. Vendor: Tiny Chefs Chopped! Never have food challenge reality shows been so popular and Chopped! is a favorite here at Tiny and Gourmet Chefs! We like it so much we decided to base a whole week long camp on the concept. Our version has the added twist of focusing on different cuisines every day of camp. So, each day the Tiny and Gourmet Chef campers will be presented with a basket with 3 or 4 ingredients, which reflect these different cuisines—French, Italian, Mexican, Asian and All-American. Using those ingredients and working within those cuisines, they will challenge themselves to make mouthwatering specialties, traditional favorites and explore new ingredients, tastes and combinations. *9 child minimum, 20 maximum (703) 340-7268
